Ecoprinting - turning leaves into art with Tamsen Flack

What is ecoprinting and how can you use bundles of leaves to create natural and unique prints on cloth? This 3 hour session with Tamsen Flack is an Introduction to how to make prints on fabric which are art in themslves but can also be embelished with other techniques such as fabric painting and embroidery. This session will give you the experience of making two prints for yourself while learning the basic techniques.  This IG reel shows Tamsen in action at last year's Warwickshire Open Studios at Dunchurch. You may have see her in action there.

Participants will receive step by step support in a small group in making their own bundles to devise and make two of their own ecoprints, to take away after steaming. While your cloth is steaming enjoy a guided tour of  the art on show at the Alex, or have a drink and cake, in the sunny peaceful garden).

The techniques used during this session will create a subtle range of colour. Tamsen will also show you examples of ecoprinting leading to more vibrant colours, to show what you can progress towards. If you wish to incorporate your own leaves then Tamsen will advise. This will be an enjoyable session suitable for those new to ecoprint bundling.  If you have leaves that you would particularly, like to use then check with Tamsen first.
