Its sometimes hard to keep track of when we are open and what things are happening. This website has had a revamp for the year ahead (our third year or being open!) because there are lots of things happening now - you really need a calendar to keep track. So look at what the tabs now reveal (this should help a lot)...
In WHAT'S ON is now an online calendar showing the events on currently and also those booked in for the rest of the year. You can click on the event to find out more and things like workshops will also usually have a poster or additional information (all you need to book). Keep checking back as more events will appear as we book them.
EXTRAS will give you a different view of workshops (linking to a folder of posters which tell you more about them and which you can share to others). It also gives you access to the current and past Newsletters. (Each month a newsletter goes out to our 400+ mailing list sharing news about the Alex in one place at that moment in time). Social media shares bite sized bits but the newsletter is a monthly meal.
VISIT/CONTACT now shows people who have not visited before a 2023 review video and also links to the interview by The Story Framer with Chris and Steve in Summer 2023 (the Alex origins story as it were). We also link to the Google and Tripadvisor review sites and the reviews in our green book at the bar. Just in case, having visited, you want to say something about us (positive we hope). We are currently No8 in the TripAdvisor Things to Do/Attractions in Rugby. (Very proud)
WOS24 is the page that gives you access to information about Warwickshire Open Studios at the Alex. This tab will contain the local guide (from early April) to the artists and events here during the schemes Summer Arts Weeks. From early May you will be able to pick up a WOS brochure and local guide in print form from the Alex. The WOS site is live now so you can see our 18 artists on there too.
TRIVIA: Who made the gloves pictured? A good friend who spun, knitted and designed them for me as a special gift. Not based in Rugby (she is in Somerset) but a fan of the place. Aren't they cute?
