'The B Road' music (and poetry) next 'First Thursday' - May 4th

Really pleased to have had an opportunity to try some live and original/traditional music in the garden at the Alex on Saturday 29th April as part of the Community Climate Cafe (images from this give a flavour - see report in TheStoryFramer blog here). We hope to have some of these fine musicians along later in the year for further First Thursdays.

The B Road - come and see them live!
Meanwhile we have another fine act to look forward to this Thursday. Its The B Road who are happy to come along with a full book of tunes to entertain us from 5.30. As usual with the Alex's programme its original or traditional music (no cover versions).

Keith describes the origins of The B Road thus ... The B Road came about from the Quiet Times when rehearsing with a band just couldn't happen. Two voices accompanied mostly by 2 guitars - playing original and traditional songs from the heart. New tunes by old bones.

The poets will take up position in the cafe gallery this time. So they will be there from 4.30 but happy to stay and continue to hear and recite poetry until later. Its a new exhibition in there for May (Jane Archer's 'Blooms and Beyond') which may be extra inspiring. Come and join in.

Open from 4-8pm and the art is all around you to admire. The cafe will be offering its usual delicious vegan soup or baked potato options with plenty of coffee, tea, cake or a beer or cider.
