Across the past year we have had 50 talented local artists and makers show their work at the Alex. (As we have only been open around 70 days so far that is impressive, but we would like to take things further and show work by more artists here this summer). Enter the Summer Arts Show at the Alex (10-16th July 2023).
This timing will allow us to use the spaces used by the 20 artists for Warwickshire Open Studios at the Alex anddo this with event more artists. It means that we can show BIG work, work by artists who are new to the Alex and some of the new-to-area and new-to-art-exhibitions artists in the area. We can also make use of our range of our plinths, cabinets and display cases to showcasee 3D and delicate work.
It has been one of the delights of being at the Alex that we often get to meet artists we have never met before.
We hope to offer a wide ranging event showing off the breadth of arts talent in Rugby, with some of the formal process of an exhibition (catalogue, stewards and labels), but all of the friendiness and fun involved in being here at the Alex.
