Our first ever Summer Arts Exhibition (10-16th July)

The Summer Arts Show is a new event for #ArtattheAlex - large scale exhibition. It avoids any hint of 'empty nest' saddness after WOS23 artists leave by filling the space with art in a different way.

Clearly lots to see and talk about at our first Summer Arts Show
We are using the main rooms on the ground floor as an interconnected gallery to showcase work by local artists. Work by 40 artists is on show and half of these are new-to-the-Alex artists. We are showcasing 76 exceptional works and there is quite a variety. We are open from Mon-Sun (10-4) for this show - a big departure from our usual two-day-per week opening. The cafe will be open for tea/coffee and cakes. Stay a while. Its a free exhibition but there is no compromise on the quality. Once again the Alex is showing just how talented the creative community in Rugby is. Almost all (39!) of the artists exhibiting will be stewarding and may be seen working/showing/selling/talking about their work while the exhibition is open.

Thank you to Mjay for the photos from the private view for artists and companions on 9th. She has captured the level of interest and breadth of the show. (Jenny Ball took the photo of me with neon highlights sitting beside the stunning work by Andy Willett and Debra Wenlock). Plenty to look at.
